Construction of wine cellars in Cubzac-Les-Ponts, near Bordeaux (South-West of France)

The Cousteau family settled in The Conseillant domaine starts operating in Cubzac producing sparkling wines.

After WWI, the estate is purchased by René Lalou, a French businessman who later went on to manage many Champagne wineries.

The Café de Paris brand is created in reference to the café located in Cubzac town center. The business rapidly expends and goes international.

Situated 23 kms from Bordeaux on the banks of the Dordogne, the 5,000 m² factory is built on 6 hectares of land. A 3-hectare plateau overlooks the site, commanding a magnificent view of the region and the famous Eiffel bridge. Underneath this plateau, 3 kms of cellars run through the historic stone quarry.
